Courses details

The mobilization and manipulation of joints and spine, was practiced for many centuries by ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Chinese and Assyrians, continuing up to 18th and 19th century practiced by the ‘bone-setters’. Bone setting is the mother of Osteopathy and Chiropractic and origin of the manual medicine.

The concept developed by the European Academy of Manual and Manipulative Therapy, based on the continuum of the human body and  the work of A.T. Still, D.D. Palmer, DeJarnette, Sutherland, Lewit, Cox and Kaltenborn.

We believe that the merger of the work of these Manual Medicine Experts into one clinically-based concept provides a more realistic approach to the examination and treatment procedure of the musculoskeletal, visceral, cranial, myofascial and neural systems

Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy use a variety of manual specific corrective techniques and forces to body's affected areas to treat structural abnormalities and to relieve somatic and joint restrictions and misalignments.

The participating faculty of the European Academy of Manual and Manipulative Therapy gives strong emphasis on teaching students developing their techniques and their understanding of the continuum the human body.

To meet the various demands on today’s physical therapy and to evaluate contemporary professional practice, participants can study a range of modules, which offers a clinical application of Anatomy, Biomechanics and Pathomechanics and

a variety of manual specific corrective techniques.

The examination format includes power point presentations, lectures, demonstration, videos, hands-on diagnosis and treatment, etc.

Aims of the Courses

The courses will enable practitioners, to expand their range of treatable conditions and to achieve more effective results than conventional manual therapy practitioners.

Participants will learn how they can help alleviate acute and chronic pain and ailments using a variety of manual techniques by evaluating and treating dysfunctions, within the musculoskeletal, visceral, cranial, myofascial and nervous systems.

Participants will learn hands-on diagnosis and treatment and will be presented with a model of how each component inter-relates and how some factors such as leg length discrepancy, spinal and visceral abnormalities influence and perpetuate dysfunctional patterns and chronic pain.

At the completion of the Courses:

Participants will be conversant in recent developments in anatomy, patho-anatomy and  the inter- related changes of the facial, neural, visceral, cranial and spinal column.

Participants will be proficient in determining a differential diagnosis based on an integrated examination of the joint, muscle, facial, visceral, cranial and neural, systems

Participants will be able to introduce and formulate clinically meaningful concepts and effective treatment programs appropriate and suitable for the assessed condition.

Participants will be proficient in applying an appropriate manual and manipulative therapy treatment strategy, incorporating manual or/and manipulative techniques and specific therapy exercise
